Peru

Public procurement, represents around 41% of the global public budget but of the total number of active companies in Peru, less than 1% contract with the state. While from all companies registered as a State provider, around only 4% are foreign.

Some interesting industries are steel products, equipment and machinery for construction, agri-food machinery, packaging, electronics and computing, and textile machinery. Mining operations offer notable opportunities, associated with the activities auxiliaries to mining (earth movement, water management, temporary accommodation for workers, power plants, etc.). Other interesting sectors are healthcare, medicines and chemicals.

Peru's legislation that regulates public procurement is made up of the Law No. 30225 (LCE) and its corresponding Regulation. The LCE, passed by Supreme Decree Nº 082-2019, establishes guidelines for public tenders for the procurement of goods, services, consultancies, and public works.
